Our Festival this year was held in glorious sunshine and once again an enormous success. A very big thank you from all of us on the committee to all of you who visited either as exhibitors or spectators and for your continued support. We are already planning our 2008 Festival which will be held on Sunday 10th August.
One of our main fundraising events is our annual Auction of Promise which is again to be held at the Aberaeron Sports Club (opposite the Memorial Hall) on Friday 30th November at 7.30pm It’s a great night for picking up bargains or start your Christmas shopping early. The evening includes everything from Mince Pies to Collectable Items! If you would like to donate items for us to auction, please contact Clive or Caryl by 15th November so we can include your lot into the sale.
Come and join us for our first Spring Ball, which will be held on Saturday 15th March, 2008 at the Royal Feathers Hotel, Aberaeron. There will be a 3 Course Dinner with Coffee before we dance into the small hours with Phil Dando and his Band. Tickets are £25 pp and accommodation can be booked direct with the Royal Feathers. Tickets can be obtained via any committee member or from Caryl.
Don’t forget about our miniature bronze and resin
statues which are available. Both the Bronze,
which is a limited edition of only 100 and the resign
models are set on an oak plinth and would look good
under anyone’s Christmas tree. The Bronze cost £750 while
the resin are £150. These are exact replicas of the Cob
statue that stands at the entrance of the Square Field in
Aberaeron
Our 2007 DVD is now available with over 4 hours of the
Festival Coverage. Each DVD is available at £18 each and
can be bought from either Clive or Caryl.
Congratulations to some of our Festival exhibits who joined us this year and went on to have great success at HOYS. Firstly, Alan, Jan and Adrian Pearce of Carmarthenshire who stood Reserve Champion in the Cuddy In-Hand Championship with Glyncoch Hyfryd. Also to Peter and Anne Jones of Menai Stud who took the Mountain & Moorland Ridden Championship with their home bred and home produced Menai Sparkling Imperial, ridden by Gemma Paxford. We look forward to welcoming you all back to Aberaeron in 2008!
